Non-union voice talent with nearly 10 years of experience. Professionally trained. Specialize in documentaries, travel and tourism promos, branding and corporate videos.
I'm a native Houstonian who lost (most) any semblance of a Texas accent once I moved to the Washington, DC metro area for graduate school. I currently reside in Alexandria, VA with my wife, Charlotte, and Bernese Mountain Dog, Daphne. I have a background in international studies and have lived and worked in Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, and Greece (I am also a dual US-Greek citizen). In addition to voice acting, I own a small group tour company, Indigo Gazelle Tours, which offers intimate cultural, culinary, and wellness experiences in Morocco and Greece. My passion for travel and cross-cultural experiences, my prior expertise in brand management/advertising/copywriting, and my voice acting have become a symbiotic career arc for me. Photography, hiking, and birdwatching are my primary hobbies.
I started exploring voice acting about a decade ago, prompted by a job change and the occasional encouraging (and, come to learn, not necessarily accurate) comments of "You've got a nice voice. Have you considered broadcasting or voice acting?" After some--in retrospect--training that seemed to lack depth and having reached a plateau, I decided to begin anew with Edge Studio: deconstructing what I was previously taught; engaging David Goldberg of Edge as my exclusive coach; learning new approaches/techniques/perspective; obtaining invaluable guidance on my target niches/forte; and producing new demos to market. I have narrated corporate videos, documentaries, radio ads, "sizzle reels", Internet ads, industrials, and tour promos.
My goal is to make my voice-over endeavor a full-time one, eventually scaling back my role in Indigo Gazelle. I intend to live part-time in Greece within the next few years, and my plan is to position myself as a go-to American English Voice Talent for the Greece market--in addition to leveraging my contacts in Morocco where I plan to position myself as a go-to American English Voice Talent there as well. Pursuing work in documentaries, travel/tourism promos, and corporate videos remain a mainstay goal, but I plan to improve my technique in the conversational/natural reads to land a greater share of commercial opportunities.
