Hello from Silicon Valley, California! I'm a Narrator for Corporate Technology, Commercial Voice Actor, founder of The V.O. Study Hall LinkedIn Group and Cheerleader for Great Ideas.
I talk to strangers. One of them started my career. He was a plus-one at a large family party and after about 10 minutes of casual conversation he said, "You must do something with your voice." I thanked him politely (I was a successful graphic designer and recovering theatre manager at the time) and smiled big. He leaned in, as if imparting great wisdom, and repeated his message. I think I got out a sort-of breathy "...ok..." before we were interrupted, but the message stuck. I spent a lot of time figuring out the "something", but it was one of the best decisions of my life. In January 2014, I built out my booth, recorded a demo and was booking within the first few weeks. Thank you, stranger... I hope you found your something, too.
"Great laugh, playful, intelligence with a light heart, tells it like it is, down to earth, approachable, relatable, reassuring, voice of reason, sensible, logical, calming, informed and informative, inspiring, quiet straight forward drama, business woman, playful friend, storyteller." I love making my clients' lives easier. Every piece of copy I read has had enormous amounts of time, money and energy spent on it. And by the time it gets to me, often my client is under stress - and a deadline - and just needs me to bring my best and nail it. And that's what I love about my job! I'm challenged every day to understand my client and their product quickly and do justice to their creation. It's the best!
I'd like to use this forum to do three things: hone my peer feedback skills, write interesting, useful copy for the community and receive valuable feedback to help me grow as a narrator and VO.
It looks like Dena Dahilig hasn't given any feedback. When they do, you’ll see it here!
